SwiftDuck is a swimming workout writing tool that will give you the ideal settings for your workout every time. The possibilities and scope of SwiftDuck are vast. The current version is only a first concept to generate feedback and direction. Many of the future functions are not available yet, there are second and third generation plans to make this into a full function site, but you are encouraged to use the site, share it and generate as much productive feedback as possible.
Go to swiftduck.net and set up an account after you read a little about it how it works and baseline speeds.
There is no cost associated with using the program. You can create full practices and workouts over the course of a season, or you may choose to use it as a reference tool for your existing practice writing system. Many people just write it down on paper, or use a workout logging program, but none of those actually give you any accountability. You can add fins or equipment to a set, but that should have an effect on performance though. How much though? And what are the real expectations that you should have? Hopefully it isn’t always just to make it, or to go “fast”. Anyone can write that, but what is reality?
play around with the workout tool. Write practices and learn how your body responds to different speeds. Share the practices with training partners and let them be modified to their abilities and don’t just use :20 rest on everything you do.
once you start using this, you will find it easier to plan and write workouts, and then use them with your team if you coach, and watch your swimmers become successful more often.
